21C Media Group is an independent public relations, new media, and consulting firm specializing in classical music and the performing arts. Our clients range from solo artists, ensembles and performing arts institutions to record labels, media organizations and Fortune 500 companies. The 21C team draws upon a broad spectrum of experience in the music industry, in areas including publicity, marketing, career development, record production, artist management, publishing and new media. The company was founded in 2000, inspired by the belief that classical music and the performing arts deserve to play a greater role enriching people's lives.
Job Description
The New Media Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Marketing and Special Projects and will be responsible for implementing the digital marketing and new media campaigns for a roster of clients. Specific responsibilities will include overseeing web site development projects, executing daily the clients’ digital marketing plans and online editorial schedules, writing copy and posting updates to clients’ web sites and social media pages, drafting and sending client e-newsletters, maintaining materials for digital marketing clients, and liaising with clients and their representatives to ensure a consistent image and message. In addition, this person will supervise an intern for the division and provide administrative support as needed to the Director of Marketing and Special Projects.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills and a strong knowledge of classical music. While familiarity with HTML and web design software is not necessary, a general ‘tech savviness’ and understanding of popular social media platforms are required. We are looking for a bright, organized, detail-oriented individual with at least two years of professional experience. Familiarity with photo and video editing, a basic understanding of HTML, and fluency in one or more foreign languages are all pluses.

INTERNSHIPS
Fall intern
(mid September through mid December with a commitment of a minimum of 20 hours per week)
Summer intern
(mid May through mid September with a commitment of a minimum of 20 hours per week)
Spring intern
(mid January through mid May with a commitment of a minimum of 20 hours per week)
The semester-long internship program provides an opportunity for those interested in a career in the arts to receive a complete overview of the workings of a marketing and public relations organization, while being in touch with some of the most renowned figures in the classical music world. Interns assist in all phases of operation within the company and work closely with all members of the 21C team.
Various responsibilities include, but are not limited to: organizing and regularly updating artist press kits; preparing press books for clients/artists; conducting research and writing reports; creating marketing materials and presentations for pitches; maintaining and mailing of publicity materials; fact checking; filing, typing and other clerical and organizational duties as needed.
