George Steel on “Leonard Lopate” this afternoon

George Steel, General Manager and Artistic Director of New York City Opera, is a guest on WNYC’s Leonard Lopate show this afternoon (Feb 13). He will discuss NYC Opera’s 2012 season, which opened yesterday afternoon with a performance of Verdi’s La traviata at BAM’s Howard Gilman Opera House (there are three further performances this week of La traviata, on February 14, 16, and 18.) Next Sunday afternoon, on February 19, NYC Opera presents the U.S. premiere of Rufus Wainwright’s first opera, Prima Donna, also at BAM, with further evening performances on February 21, 23, and 25.
