Livestreams from Caramoor’s Music Room: Musicians from The Knights Play Anna Clyne World Premiere (Tonight, July 23); Rachael & Vilray (Sat, July 25)

An important part of Summer 20/2.0Caramoor’s flexible new summer program, is a series of on-site, professionally filmed concerts, streaming live from the historic Rosen House Music Room. Continuing the series tonight (Thurs, July 23), Musicians from The Knights offer a program featuring the world premiere of a new work by British composer Anna Clyne, a two-time Grammy nominee whose cello concerto is one of NPR’s “25 Favorite Songs of 2020.” Then, on Saturday evening (July 25), Caramoor presents jazz duo Rachael & Vilray in a livestreamed performance of original numbers and nostalgic favorites from the 1930s and ’40s.

Musicians from The Knights

Livestream Thurs, July 23 at 7pm

Hailed as “dazzlingly inventive” by Time Out New York, Anna Clyne’s music is featured in this livestream, when Musicians from The Knights pair the world premiere performance of her new work, Shorthand, with Brahms’s Second String Sextet. Karen Ouzounian is the cello soloist in Clyne’s new piece.

Rachel & Vilray

Livestream Sat, July 25 at 7pm

Lake Street Dive singer-songwriter Rachael Price and composer, singer and guitarist Vilray turned their shared love of ’30s and ’40s jazz music into a heart-warming collaboration. Offering a mixture of original songs and forgotten treasures, the livestream is presented in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center.
