medici.tv Presents “Musical Gifts: Joshua Bell and Friends – Live From Joshua’s New York Home” Nov 26

For the first time, medici.tv will present a live concert webcast from a private residence, when the cameras roll on Tuesday, November 26 at the home of Joshua Bell. The concert begins at 7pm EST, but viewers can tune in at 6:45pm for some pre-concert interviews as the guests arrive. The evening will recreate the world-renowned violinist’s family tradition of having friends come to his home during the holidays to join in songs that celebrate the warmth, beauty, and magic of the season. Titled “Musical Gifts: Joshua Bell and Friends – Live from Joshua’s New York Home,” the program will feature Renée Fleming, Michael Feinstein, Frankie Moreno, Rob Moose, and the Young People’s Chorus of New York City.

Performances will include “An Old Fashioned Christmas” with Renée Fleming, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” with Frankie Moreno, “The Secret of Christmas” with Michael Feinstein, “Silent Night” with the Young People’s Chorus of New York City (Francisco Núñez, Director), “Let It Snow” with Rob Moose, and more. The webcast will be available for streaming on medici.tv until January 31.

The concert celebrates the release of Musical Gifts, Bell’s first holiday recording for Sony Masterworks. Released last month, the new album boasts collaborations with opera stars Plácido Domingo and Renée Fleming; cellist Steven Isserlis; singers Gloria Estefan, Alison Krauss, Kristin Chenoweth, Michael Feinstein, and Frankie Moreno; trumpeter Chris Botti; jazz greats Chick Corea and Branford Marsalis; a cappella group Straight No Chaser; and classical comedy duo Igudesman & Joo.

“I am thrilled to jump at the chance to support this fabulous program and give more people the opportunity to hear Joshua perform with friends,” explained Adrienne Arsht, Executive Producer of the event. “And if you miss the live performance, the holiday CD is available everywhere. This is Joshua as he is known to his friends,” continued Arsht.

“Joshua Bell is a musical legend,” adds Clayton Taylor, Vice President of Production at WFYI Public Media. “We are so pleased to be partnering with medici.tv to present this concert.”

The founder of medici.tv, Hervé Boissière, commented: “Joshua Bell is a longtime friend of medici.tv. We filmed him several times but for this very special event, it will be the first time in New York. And we are so excited to celebrate his new musical venture in the very particular context of his beautiful flat in Manhattan.”

This special musical evening is sponsored by medici.tv, WFYI Public Media, and Adrienne Arsht, who serves as Executive Producer. Robert Pullen is the Supervisory Producer and David Monn will provide the decor.
