Nathalie Stutzmann Makes Medici.tv Debut Tomorrow

Tomorrow, on November 17 at 2pm (EST), medici tv  will broadcast “Castrats Divas” live from Cité de la musique  in Paris, France. The program features some of Handel’s and Vivaldi’s greatest opera arias. These arias, which used to be sung by castrati playing female roles, will be performed by contralto Nathalie Stutzmann, accompanied by her ensemble Orfeo 55, which she  founded in 2009. One of the rare authentic alto voices of our time, Stutzmann also devotes part of her career to conducting, which she studied with Jorma Panula (who trained Sir Simon Rattle) and Seiji Ozawa. Following the success of her Vivaldi disc PrimaDonna, which she recorded with Orfeo 55 and released on Deutsche Grammophon earlier this year, Stutzmann makes her first live appearance on citedelamusique.tv and on medici.tv.
