NYC’s Concert Artists Guild (CAG) Announces New Partnership with London’s Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT)

When it comes to developing the careers of emerging young artists in North America and Europe, New York’s Concert Artists Guild (CAG) and London’s Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) share more than a century of experience. Now, following the success of YCAT artists Jamal Aliyev and Tabea Debus at CAG’s most recent competition, the two organizations draw on their combined expertise to launch a new partnership that will allow them to offer young artists unprecedented new transatlantic opportunities, while also growing the resources available to help them.

The collaboration is timely, for young musicians have never faced greater obstacles in starting their careers, and most struggle to be seen and heard in today’s challenging global environment. By joining forces, CAG and YCAT are confident that they can help these young artists navigate and connect cultural marketplaces on both sides of the Atlantic.

Tanya Bannister, President of CAG, comments:

“It’s fantastic for young musicians to have both CAG and YCAT working together to mentor and create opportunities. It’s imperative to explore increasing resources for musicians that help create unique and global points of view.”

Alasdair Tait, Chief Executive & Artistic Director of YCAT, comments:

“Following the success of Jamal Aliyev (cello) and Tabea Debus (recorder) at the CAG’s Victor Elmaleh Competition in October, it is so exciting to be exploring ways of deepening our relationship with CAG. Rather than simply sharing artists, this is an opportunity for us to grow the creative opportunities available for young artists on both sides of the Atlantic and further our aligned missions of developing and challenging the landscape for 21st-century musicians.”
