Nikolaus Harnoncourt & Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra: The Complete Teldec Recordings
42-CD boxed set
Release date: June 5

Lasting 38 years and resulting in a total of 276 concerts, Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s relationship with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO) was one of the most transformative partnerships in modern orchestral history. The Austrian conductor brought his radical “Historically Informed Performance” (HIP) principles to one of the world’s most traditional romantic orchestras, synthesizing old-world symphonic sound with Baroque authenticity. To mark the tenth anniversary year of his death, Warner Classics releases this new compilation of Harnoncourt’s Teldec recordings with the RCO from 1980–2001. The set includes their famous Mozart and Haydn symphony cycles, Schubert’s complete symphonic works, the Mozart/Da Ponte trilogy (Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, and Così fan tutte), and works by Bruckner, Brahms, Dvořák, J. Strauss, and others.
