On her new digital EP, Weaving, composer-pianist Büşra Kayıkçı draws inspiration from the ancient weaving traditions of her native Anatolia, finding visual parallels between traditional looms and her upright piano, which share a vertical structure, exposed strings, and fabric behind the hammers. Each of the four tracks was inspired by one of the symbolic motifs found in Anatolian carpet design.

In 2022, cellist Gautier Capuçon launched the Foundation Gautier Capuçon to support talented young artists in the early stages of their careers. This recording is the latest in an ongoing partnership with Warner Classics, which grants one or more laureates of the foundation the opportunity to record their first CD with the label.
Performing on violin and cello respectively, Luka and Léo Ispir are both laureates of the foundation’s 2023 edition. Their first recording combines Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello and Mozart’s First String Duo in G with new Bach arrangements by the Ispir brothers themselves. Their album also features the world premiere recording of Fazil Say’s Street of Memories and closes with Johan Halvorsen’s Passacaglia (After Handel’s Suite in G minor, HWV 432).

To mark the 20th anniversary of the death of conductor Carlo Maria Giulini, his complete studio recordings for Columbia, HMV, Pathé, and Electrola have, for the first time, been remastered in HD 192kHz/24-bit from the original tapes by Art & Son Studio and presented in this 60-CD boxed set. The collection includes several recordings not previously published: a Freischütz Overture (1969); stereo versions of the “Spring” and “Summer” concertos from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, together with a rehearsal recording of “Winter” (1955); and excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony (1962).
The Complete Stereo Recordings on Warner Classics

This boxed set brings together all the stereo recordings from Sir Thomas Beecham’s rich discography for Columbia and HMV, including the very first experimental stereo recording of the first movement of Mozart’s 41st Symphony. Many of these albums were produced at a turning point in recording history, when the industry began to move from mono to stereo recordings. Highlights include Carmen with Victoria de los Ángeles, Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, Franck’s Symphony in D minor, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, and the conductor’s famous “Lollipops” albums. Another boxed set devoted to his mono recordings will be released later this year.
The Complete Erato Recordings
Aldo Ciccolini, piano

Italian-born pianist Aldo Ciccolini died in 2015, concluding a career spanning more than seven decades. Anticipating his centenary on August 15, Erato releases his complete recordings for the label, which include complete piano cycles by Liszt, Saint-Saëns, and Séverac, together with his acclaimed interpretations of Debussy and Satie. The set also features several previously unreleased recordings, including live recitals from France’s Nohant Festival Chopin and a studio session of Ciccolini’s favorite encores.

Anne-Sophie Mutter performs two iconic double concertos. She recorded Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in 1982 with Salvatore Accardo, who leads the English Chamber Orchestra from the violin. Her performance of Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola was captured in 1991, with Bruno Giuranna on viola and Sir Neville Marriner conducting London’s Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields.

Although best-known for his iconic film scores, Ennio Morricone was also a trumpet player who composed more than a hundred works for the concert stage. His trumpet concerto UT was written in 1991 for his fellow composer and trumpet player Mauro Maur. On this live recording, Santtu-Matias Rouvali leads the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, with principal trumpet player Omar Tomasoni as soloist.
