When he died 50 years ago on May 15, 1976, aged only thirty-three, Munrow left behind a terrific recorded legacy, ranging from the 12th century to Baroque and Renaissance music – with occasional forays into the 20th century. This set collates Munrow’s prolific discography on Warner Classics and Nonesuch, recordings which remain a testament to his immense virtuosity, eclecticism, and pioneering spirit.
