Saehyun Kim’s debut album pays homage to Paris, which he describes as the city “where my life changed.” It was not only in Paris that the young Korean pianist made his European debut, but also there that he won the 2025 Long-Thibaud International Piano Competition, two years after sweeping the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists.
Kim’s program combines Chopin’s 12 Études (Op. 25) and Nocturne No. 8 in D-flat with Fauré’s first Barcarolle, first Valse-Caprice, and second Impromptu. He also performs his own arrangement of Fauré’s Après un rêve before concluding the album with “En Avril à Paris” (1953) by French singer-songwriter Charles Trenet.

Emmanuel Pahud’s new album, Ceremony, takes its title from a five-part flute concerto of that name by Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa. As its dedicatee, Pahud premiered the work in 2022. He also performs Christopher Rouse’s Flute Concerto (1994), an elegy to two-year-old murder victim Jamie Bulger, and Prokofiev’s Flute Sonata (Op. 94), in a new arrangement for flute and orchestra by Stephan Koncz, who – like Pahud – is a longstanding member of the Berlin Philharmonic. Pahud describes the album as “an ode to life and a celebration of inspiration.”

September 15, 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Bruno Walter, one of the most influential conductors of the 20th century. This comprehensive boxed set gathers together his complete HMV and Columbia recordings from 1924-39. The collection also includes his landmark 1949 magnetic tape recording of Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder, featuring Kathleen Ferrier, from which two takes have never previously been released. Sourced from the finest available materials, including pristine test pressings on vinyl from original metalwork and near-mint commercial pressings, the remasterings are by Art & Son Studio.
